The start of something good

Well, here we are again.

I decided to start blogging again to share life lessons, experiences, adventures, and my testimony with anyone who finds their way here.

For those of you who don't know me very well, let me introduce myself.

My name is Edna Zahaia Cuevas Da Silva.

I was born in Mexico and then moved to Utah with my family when I was 6. I grew up with two older brothers who loved me unconditionally, my single mom who is the most hardworking person I know, and with my grandma who was an angel in the lives of everyone she met. I was so blessed; and I continue to be blessed each and every day.

I just got home from serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ventura California for 18 months. That experience changed my life forever. I experienced so many things, and met so many people who touched my life in so many ways. I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for those 18 months.

I've been home for about 4 months now and its been great. Sure, life is hard sometimes, and most of the time I can't even, but I have the Savior beside me who helps me and reminds me why I keep trying every day.

About a month after I got home I got really caught up with school, work, friends and family that it began to be a little overwhelming. I stopped one day and realized that I had been trying to do life all by myself. Why? I don't know. I guess I thought I could do it all alone. BIGGEST LIE OF MY LIFE.

I can't, we can't. We need our Loving Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Once I remembered that (with the help of one of my best friends), everything started falling back into place.

I started asking my Father in Heaven for help again, and I let Christ help lift my burdens. By doing that, it hasn't made my problems go away, but it's made going through them easier.

I'm so thankful to know that I have a Father in Heaven, a Savior, and an army of angels in Heaven and on earth who are cheering me on and helping me on a daily basis.

I hope you don't ever forget that you are not in this alone. There are so many people who want to see you succeed. God being the very first one. So if you feel caught up with life, stop, breathe, and ask Heavenly Father for help. He's always waiting for us to ask for anything our heart desires.

Be strong and have a great week!

- Zahaia ♥
